CAIPIRINHA
Made using AEG's PowerMix Silent Blender (see page)

Cachaca, is the Brazilian cane spirit key for the delicious and potent national drink Caipirinha, combined with fresh lime, ice cubes and stock syrup. The drink can be made as sweet or tart as you like by adjusting the stock syrup in the recipe.

Makes 2 drinks

1 fresh lime (cut into 6 segments)
12 ice cubes
4 shots Cachaca
2 shots stock sugar syrup (see CP's Tip and recipe introduction)
extra fresh slices of lime and fresh mint leaves for decoration

(1) Place the ice cubes and fresh lime slices in the the blender and pulse quickly, until partly crushed. Add to the glasses. Pour on the Cachaca and stock syrup. Stir with a long handled spoon.

(2) To serve, top up with extra pieces of lime and fresh mint leaves.

CP's Tips
For Stock Syrup - Add 115g / 4oz caster sugar and 250ml / 8fluoz water to a small pan over a low heat. When the sugar has dissolved, bring to
the boil and leave to boil for 3 minutes. Pour into a china jug and leave to completely cool before using.

For a fruitier Caipirinha. Add few thin slices of kiwi fruit, and strawberries, to each glass.
